Nostalgia

Love for baking is just like any other love affair where you can’t stop yourself from thinking about the object of your affection. Every day is just like a new milestone in your relationship. You try different recipes; sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
Interesting thing is, with each failure you feel more passionate about it. People believe that baking is not just an art but it’s a complete science. Recipes should be followed exactly in the same manner as they have been created. Slight change in it can ruin the whole product. But I guess that’s not the whole truth. Isn't it? When we say our relation with baking is just like any other relationship it means rule of relationship apply here too. When you are introduced to someone new you go through the process of knowing that person.

Next stage brings along a certain belief of knowing that person. Same goes for baking. In the beginning you simply follow the actual recipes. But after mastering the art you can play around with different recipes without messing them.
My very first introduction to baking was with the help of sponge cake recipe. Simple and easy recipe of sponge cake which I tried for many years is one of the sweetest from my childhood memories. Even before I learnt to make fire a really sweet aunty of mine taught me and Gull how to bake sponge cake.
We used to take 3 eggs in a bowl and beat them for 5 minutes with the help of a beater. After that we used to add 1 cup of sugar and then continued beating until mixture turned into something fluffy. Adding 1 cup flour and 1 tea spoon baking powder and few drops of vanilla extracts to it we continued beating. And finally after adding half cup of cooking oil to the mixture, pan with all this material used to be placed into the pre-heated oven for 30 minutes on 180 degree .It used to be the yummiest pond cake ready for tea time.

After so many years of practice I tried many more recipes by adding or subtracting ingredients to this basic cake recipe which proved to be a success. For all those friends who want to master this art of baking, remember one thing baking is not difficult but does require a lot of patience just like any other love relationship.

Beautifully written Para. Perfect analogy for portraying a relationship. A new relation is something definitely worth exploring but yeah a relation in turmoil could become fascinating by trying different things.
