Cakeless world......

In any culture cakes represent happiness. Wedding, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, engagements even New Year’s, cakes are everywhere to celebrate the blissful moments with us. At times I think what if there were no cakes to celebrate? Hard to imagine, isn’t it?

Caking business has grown huge all over. People have been experimenting and making it better with each passing day. Interestingly no matter how innovative you are with the shape and design of the cake, one thing that actually matters is the taste. It’s always the same ingredients but you get different taste with slight variation in baking process.

Couple of weeks back on my birthday, few friends of mine asked me to bake them chocolate cake with lots of chocolate icing on it. Chocolate being my all-time favorite holds a special place in my heart. I love to experiment with it. According to the promise I had to bake a cake which was supposed to be all chocolaty but on that very day when I was supposed to bake, due to shortage of time I changed my mind at the last minute. Instead of chocolate cake I decided to go for chocolate brownies. Although many people love to bake whites but I personally think that brownies are the best. One thing I always think while baking them is the similarity of ingredients. I use eggs, flour, coco powder, sugar, butter, baking powder, vanilla extract and salt for both chocolate cake and brownies, but by changing the mixing order chocolate cake turns into yummy brownies. Let me tell you how!

Mix ¾ cups of butter with ¾ cups of coco powder and start beating. Add 2 cups of ¼ sugars and keep beating. Add 4 eggs to this mixture one by one along with few drops of vanilla extract (using vanilla extract in chocolate base recipes enhances its chocolate flavor and fragrance. Now in a separate bowl add one ¼ cup of flour, 1 table spoon salt and 1 table spoon baking powder. Add this dry mixture into the batter and mix for few seconds. Pour this baking mixture into a greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes on 180 degree.

Here you are with the yummiest brownie recipe you would ever have!

Okay baby shower is something new in baking. How come we dont hear much about it in Pakistan? I guess you should promote it here.It would be unique and would surely be the most cherishing moment for a mom-to-be :) OMG you can totally make a new-born baby golu molu small character on top of the cake with white chocolate and pink cheeks by adding color. Could this be more adorable?

for sugar you have to massure it 1/4 twice. that means u will add 1/4 cup of sugar twice in a mixture.

while for flour take one cup and put 1/4 quantity of flour in it. and add to the mixture.
